Host Committee Volunteers

The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee has begun the process of finding the volunteers needed to help with the RNC Convention in August.

The 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee will recruit, train and manage thousands of volunteers to be the faces of Tampa Bay during the week of the 2012 Republican National Convention. Volunteers will welcome guests at local airports and hotels throughout the area, as well as support Host Committee programs and a variety of events during the year leading up to the convention.

2012 Republican National Convention Small Business Network

Tampa Bay Host CommitteeThe 2012 Republican National Convention Host Committee released this story regarding their Small Business Network.

Recently, the 2012 Tampa Bay Host Committee (“Host Committee”) for the 2012 Republican National Convention (“Convention”) launched the Small Business Network, a program designed to promote and market our local small business community. We are the first host committee for a Republican National Convention in recent memory to have placed such a strong emphasis on the promotion of our local small businesses. To be successful, we are asking for your help in supporting our small business network.

I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support as you begin your own planning efforts for the Convention. If there is an opportunity for a local small business to provide your organization with a product or service, you can support the Small Business Network by registering any such opportunities on our website at www.2012tampa.com under the “Small Business Network” tab.

I recognize there are several national and out-of-state firms that have been advertising their services to help large organizations plan convention-related events. However, we would be appreciative of any potential business or contracts you are able to allow our local small business community to compete for. We believe our Tampa Bay area small business community is ready, willing, and able to help you fulfill just about any need you will have if you plan to be in the Tampa Bay area this summer.

Our website is now active and open for organizations to submit contracts for our local small businesses to bid on. We will host a Small Business Forum in March 2012, where you can meet with local businesses that fit your criteria in a one-on-one setting.
With the national economy not being as strong as it once was, I believe we have a responsibility to our local small business community to do everything we can to promote, market, and help them aggressively compete for business opportunities in the Tampa Bay area as a result of the Convention. I would be grateful for any efforts you can make to support our local economy and the people who will be helping us make this Convention a huge success.

They will be holding a forum focusing on Education, Networking, and Registration on Thursday, January 19, 2012 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, 105 North Bayshore Drive, Safety Harbor, FL 34695. You can RSVP for the event on the Host Committee website.

2012 GOP Convention Blogger Supersite

Happy New Year! Sure it’s a little late, but we’re only a week into the year and the 2012 GOP Convention in Tampa is only 233 days away. So, welcome to the 2012 GOP Convention Blogger Supersite. Let’s kick things off by telling you a bit about this site.

The goal of the site is to be the go to site for the hundreds of bloggers that will visit Tampa for the GOP Convention. Over the next weeks and months we will be adding resources that should make your visit successful and fun. We are also going to plan a blogger bash (or two) during the run of the convention.

There are a few things I’m going to need from you.

  • I want to compile a list of bloggers from the Tampa Bay area (aka Orlampa, or the Tampa-Orlando I-4 corridor). A contact form will be going up soon.
  • I want to compile a list of bloggers from out of the area that are planning on coming to the convention.
  • Send us suggestions for the information you think will be useful.
  • Send any other suggestion you may have.

I’ve got some work to do. Until I set up the contact forms you can send the information to lakelandjim at gmail dot com. The Contact Form is available.
